Customer Review: Back to the whetstone
Summary: 2 Stars
The stones on the "coarse" side wear quickly. By the sixth steak knife, there were already "shelves" worn into the stones, meaning that after the first half hour of use, I already needed to reposition the stones. I bought this sharpener for myself, and a similar one (the Wusthof Asian Edge Sharpener) for my brother. His actually dulled the edge on his favorite knife. We're both back to the tried and true whetstone.

The Wusthof Ikon knife and scissor sharper features cross diamond rods and ceramic stones that combined in stages to bring your knife to razor sharpness. The sturdy cast aluminum housing is stable and durable. The Ceramic honing stage can also be used to deburr serrated knives.
