Customer Review: Don't be misled by the Wusthof name.
Summary: 3 Stars
I was disappointed in the quality of the knife -- thin, flexible blade. And the board is so small that it really is useless to me. There are much better knives at this price point ... including OXO, Victronox and Anolon. Don't let the Wusthof name fool you. Don't let the Emeril name fool you either.
I gave it three stars because the price was right -- $14. Look for it soon at Big Lots.
I returned this item without hesitation.

Emeril in collaboratotion with Wusthof have kicked it up a notch in producing this 2 piece Slicing set. The 8" carving knife is laser cut from High carbon German steel in Wusthof's 190 year old facilities in Solingen Germany. The 8 inch carving knifes fine edge will produce thin acurate slices from meats to fruits. This set includes , 8" carving knife and bamboo cutting board. Bamboo for an excellent cutting surface. Bamboo is a harder material than maple and lasts a very long time. Bamboo is also a renewable resource and freindly on the environment.The beloved chef Emeril Lagasse has teamed up with renowned cutlery company Wusthof to create Emerilware knives--a collection designed to deliver great performance without breaking the bank. Crafted in Wusthof's German factories, Emerilware knives feature blades that are laser-cut from high-carbon German steel. This material is durable, handsome, and stain-resistant, as well as excellent at retaining a sharp edge. Emerilware knife handles are ergonomic in shape with a nonslip grip and sport the Wusthof trident insignia at the end. All Emerilware knives are stamped on the blade with both the Emeril signature and the Wusthof logo, making them great gifts for Emeril fans.
This Emerilware set includes a bamboo cutting board and an 8-inch carving knife for whole birds, roasts, and hams. The cutting board is fashioned from bamboo, which is both highly durable and easier on the environment than many hardwoods.
